Late 80's/early 90's kids TV drama/comedy (British)?

CBBC or CITV, probably the 4.35 time slot.

It was about an alien teenager that got stranded on earth and was taken in by a boy of about 13 - the boy had to hide him from his family (difficult as he wouldn't stay hidden) and cover up the fact that he was an alien to his friends (difficult as he was so curious about earth and all of its odd inventions etc and stuck out like a sore thumb).

He had funny ears that he had to hide under his hair, which was like a 'beatles' cut. The younger earth boy was middle class and had a round face.

It was utter rubbish of course, but not remembering what it was called is doing my head in. Does anyone remember?

And by the way, it is not Kappatoo!

It was Mike and Angelo. I did my work experience at the London Studios and ended up working on this show. I remember one occasion where, in the script, the alien sold all the furniture and replaced it with cardboard replicas. I spent all bloody day making a lifesize kitchen out of cardboard and at the last minute the producer decided not to use it!
