How is my poem?

love you more than there are fish in the sea and higher than the moon?

I know Claire knew it was coming I say it every morning, night, and noon,

She rolls her eyes and looks at me like every time before,

know daddy, youe told me, and you don need to tell me anymore.?br>

I look at her and smile, remembering her mother eyes,

They sparkle just like hers did, like the stars in the December skies,

My beautiful girl growing up so fast, even though she only four,

Four years since my wife died, four years not any more.

I can imagine what it like for her, growing up with only a dad,

I wonder if seeing other kids with mothers makes her sad,

No one to brush her hair and give her beauty tips when she older,

No mother to lean on when she gets her first broken heart, and sob on her shoulder.

hy did mommy have to die??she says with a curious expression,

I look at her with teary eyes; she always asks this question,

don know Claire, I don know,?this is all I can think to say,

ut I do know even though she gone, she still with you everyday.?br>

Claire smiles her mothers smile as she wraps her arms around my thigh,

love you daddy, and I know mommy does to, so you don have to cry?

I pick her up into my arms and hold on to her tight,

And even though I crying, I know now that everything will be alright.

How is my poem?

How is your Poem..?

It is lovely and it is straight from the heart.

This is the way to write pure verse..you do it well.

There are ways to re work small parts of your poem and also to present it in a different way..however although there exists possiblitly ...there is no real need.

This line..

'But I do know even though she gone, she still with you everyday.?is especially moving to me because I know the truth of these words...

You write the words ..so please be aware you carry great insight ....

I am sure your poem touches many hearts..

You are gifted and touch my energy deeply..

and for that I do thank you..

How is my poem?

Is this based on Nicholas Spark's book At First Sight? Report It

How is my poem?

It's really good!

How is my poem?

I usually don't answer requests for poem evaluations as I am not the slightest bit creative, but I enjoy reading them. This one was ABSOLUTELY beautiful. I'm sure it is more poignant because it is a subject matter very dear to me as I am essentially a single father to two very lovely young ladies, but, it is wonderful even without this unique perspective.

Good luck and God Bless.

How is my poem?

...it's so sad and true....

but I love it =]

How is my poem?

WOW, This was amazing. not many poems can bring a tear to my eyes but yours did. WOW. it reminds me of a poem my friend wrote in 7th grade. The poem was about a little girl who was going to fathers day with her mom. when it was her turn to tell her class about her dad she told them every thing she could remember. and she did this after she herd remarks such as "probably a dead-beat dad" and "she doesn't even have a daddy!" she ends her speech. then tells every one that her dad was killed in an explosion in Iraq the year before. In my friends poem my favorite line is

"I know my Daddy would love to be here today,

But haven is just too far"

sorry about ranting about my friends poem. this one is very very good. i wouldn't change a thing

best of luck, and keep writing!
