High Schoolers/Middle Schoolers: What percentage of kids at your school are "scenesters/scene k

I graduated in 2001, so there were virtually none when I was there. Do find it annoying that so many people have taken on to one genre (loosely applied, of course)? Or has it simply become the acceptable norm?

I guess the equivalent to these phenomena when I was in high school would be popular/cheer girls and skaters with spikey hair who drive Ford F-150s.

ok, i live in detroit so hardly fricken anybody, sept me and a few other kids. like 3 percent.

Back in high school there was about 5 or 6 "scene kids", including me. But my school was small, and in the country.

At college, I've seen about 5.

Almost everyone in my school is scene or emo is kinda weird ; ) because I think it's fake. They believe they are different but in reality they are all alike in the way they dress or act they listen to the same exact music and if it isn't "in" they stop listening.

there are couple of emo kids(not including myself) so I say about 10% there is only 1 scene girl in my school

I'm a senior in HS and I am in college, and I'd say at least 25% of the kids at my HS are considered emo/scene. In my college classes, maybe like 6 or 7 could be considered emo/scene. I live in Florida, so most of the kids here are 'gangster'

We have none at all.

My school is small and everyone there wants to be a gangster rapper.

Only about, maybe 5 emo kids. Most of the kids are into rap.

umm...not that many...even though my school is big (about 3000 kids) i've seen a couple scensters..not many

im a freshman in a highschool with about 6000 kids and at least a 1/4 of them are emo/ scene

at my school, there are 4 out of almost 900, three are freshman (including me) and 1 senior. the funny thing is that the 3 freshmen are all from the same city (i go to private school so everyone is from different places)

EDIT: private school may also explain the lack of scene kids because everybody prances around wearing louis viotonne (the designer with the L's and the V's) shoes and coach purses, while singing rap/ hip hop... the scene kids are indeed frowned opon.

ps: people should post what state they live in because someone who lives in Wyoming vs. someone from like a different state would have a big difference.

About 60% of the freshman. And then a couple upperclassmen here or there, but very few.
