My niece wasn't getting very good grades last year and to make matters worse she dyed her hair green without permission.So my sister made a deal with her.If my niece got all A's or B's she could keep her hair green.To further the bet if my niece got all A's my sister agreed to shave her head and make it very shiny.My sister agreed not to wear a wig to cover her bald head.Well it worked my niece got all A's on her report card at the end of the year.My sister kept her word and had her head shaved and buffed to a bright shine.Do you think that was kind of extreme?

Nope, whatever it takes as long as it motivates the student. I remember one of our drill sergeants saying he would shave his head if we all qualified at the rifle range. We did; he did. When we came out of the barbershop one day, he walked out into the middle of everyone, stood there (loooong pause) and took his hat off with a flair. Everyone cheered. It also meant that we would be taken off of restriction after only being there for two weeks.

My kids? I'm lost. My head is already shaved.

I know this isn't the right answer, but it worked on me when I was getting bad grades. My Dad simply threatend to kick my a**. After that I made honor roll in two consecutive report card periods. After the heat died down though I started making bad grades again.

Grade Grandma Mom

A 20 10

B 10 5

C 0 0

D -10 -5

E -20 -10

Yes thats right if you get a C you get nothing and for D's and E's you pay me!

I love that mom followed thru with shaving her head thats great!

yes i think that was a lot drastic cuz there r difrent ways to convince your nice to get better grades besides something so drastic. you could have tried giving her money for her good grades, letteing her keep the hair, or just convincing her that good grades are the only way to score her dream job.

yes i think that was a little extreme, however good grades in school are very important becuase now adays you need a good education to have a good job. another route would be to pay a certain amount of money per a and b. my parents used to give me(13 years ago) 3 dollars per A and 2 per B, i never had any thing lower then a B

I know every kid is different but I think most just don't try in school & the parents should be more strict when it comes to school work. I think the $ encentive is ok, but it's kinda like rewarding them for something they should be doing anyway.
